The head was pulled from the engine to inspect carbon build up as a cause for the engine running on. Turns out there was a ton of carbon build up. Now to clean it all, and put it back together. I decided that while the engine is in this state it would be a good time to strip it right now, clean it out proper, paint it and begin again. I am planning on switching to Moss' FR89 cam, along with a set of their uprated/lighted lifters and the recommended valve springs. As for the rest of the build I will order a head rebuild kit and a sump gasket set from Rimmer's along with the clutch and ring gear. The valves are 0.0005" under workshop manual spec and showing signs of wear. I will replace them rather than clean them.
