Alternator and Ignition Timing

Replacement alternator is on order! It's a proper 40A Nippon Denso from a Kubota Digger. Should weight in at about 7 lbs. Megajolt is also sorted and running on the base map now. Just waiting on the pair of brass nipples and usb adapter to arrive to finish it up proper.

I picked up Des Hamill's book on power tuning ignitions. It's quite a good read and although it says it's not for programmable ECU ignition systems it does provide a ton of information on how to determine what the proper timing is for an engine and how to test it. This is the exact information I was looking for on timing, how to find the magical numbers. I am going to post some of the interesting information from it on here somewhere with regards to octane rates vs compression ratios. This book was well worth the money in my opinion.
