The Butcher

Started wonding if the hood from the second car would be a better fit then the other. Mainly because the support frame for the hood can from this one. The reason I wasn't going to use it originally was because of this ridiculous lip that was riveted then bondo'd over to the leading edge of the hood. So to make my decision I started to remove the lip and see what was under it.
Stores should not be allowed to see this much Bondo to a single person. At it's thickest point it was close to 3/8" think.
Why are these cars such a target for whim modifications that made no sense.
The removed metal.
And what was under it all. As near as I can tell the reason for this can was a dent in a tough spot to hammer it out just to the left of the point. I made a nice rounded punch and popped'r out. Now to sand it down and see what the rust damage is. This hood still needs more work but I think it's more of an option then before as it will mount nicer.

Surprises under the old body

Noticed some rocker rot, further digging discovered:
The 10 pop rivets holding the "floor pans" in had rotted right out of what was left of the rocker. In here is where I found the newpaper.
The things you find stuffed behind Bondo.... Carpet, Newspaper, usualy screen, and some plastic bag which I found more of. All in all good thing I'm not using this body. At lease mine is all steel below, no newspaper, pop rivets, carpet or bags. I can't wait to get it back from Glen's

Full of Surprises

Body work has started....

I think I'm going to end up buying a replacement rear panel

SURPRISE!!!! while removing the rear panel of the car, we discovered the previous owner stuffed a plastic bag in the hole and bondo'd over it....
