While getting the coil packs from the Explorer I also yanked the throttle cable out to use in my conversion. The shielding holds it's shape better than bicycle brake cable, so I can bend it to nice soft angles around the engine bay for extra smooth pedal action. The actual cable itself is far more flexible than bicycle brake cable. It should work much better.
I also have a couple of degree's of adjust-ability in where the cable attached to the throttle linkage so I can fine tune the pedal feel.
